The Maine Genealogical Society (MGS) has an extremely active publishing program.  A membership newsletter is published quarterly, as is The Maine Genealogist, our scholarly journal.  Both are sent to members as soon as available. In addition, the Society has a published a collection of more than 90 Special Publications over the last several years.  We are very proud of our publications program and believe them to be a significant contribution to the study of Maine genealogy and history. Nathan Lord came to Kittery, Maine, from England by 1638 at the age of five, accompanied by his mother and stepfather. He lived in Kittery for more than fifty years. The father of nine children and grandfather of fifty-one, he founded one of Maine’s earliest and most prolific families. This comprehensive genealogy, compiled in two large volumes and more than 1,600 pages, documents over 4,000 of Nathan Lord's descendants over seven generations. Female lines are carried forward for one additional generation.
